After meeting Ragna debats and Pere aurell during the Africa chapter of their rolling mountains project, they invited me to join them on the american chapter. we spent six weeks road tripping in a campervan with their daughter Onna and their two dogs, visiting numerous national Parks and building up to Ragna racing in Western States endurance run, where she finished 3rd and broke the veterans record.
the project was fully immersive, working and living out of the van and constantly on the move. it also took a unique skillset to keep up with professional runners while carrying camera gear. I did this for up to 40kms and summiting peaks over 4000m. Filming western states at the heart of a highly contested women's race between Beth Pascal, Ruth Croft and Ragna will go down as one of my most exciting races ever documented.
