The San

San

The purest lineage of mankind, and the race that managed to adapt to its environment better than any other has been confronted with a competitor it is struggling to beat.
In the game of survival the San – who have always lived in symbiosis with its surroundings – are being crushed by the human species of the modern world. Concepts alien to them such as land belonging to an individual, have been enforced onto their lifestyle and in the process made it impossible to sustain. Today the San live on the fringe of society as they were last to join the rat race. They have been partially integrated into the modern world adopting things such as diet, religion, alcohol, material goods, and basic health and education facilities but still live with one foot buried in their traditional ways. This midpoint has caused much confusion, and the San are struggling to define their new identity. As with so many other African tribes and nations it is impossible to undo what has been done to them and revert to their traditional ways. They can only move forwards.
The masters of adaptation now face an environment harsher than any other they have come across. Their unique skills, notion of existence, and ease to learn make them a powerful race, especially in the bush. But their submissive character makes them a pushover to a capitalist world. Its time to act.
